This was my first attempt

at capturing my polished nails:

This is CND Effect Sapphire Sparkles layered over CND Inkwell.

But since this first picture don't capture the duochrome goodness of this combo, here are a couple of thumb shots:

CND polishes are incredibly pigmented, I only used one coat of Inkwell and one coat of SS, and they are totally worth the price tag.

I really wanna win this...

It is one of FIVE prizes that My Nail Graffiti is giving away in a BIG 500 follower giveaway, which also includes this:

Her husband makes awesome frankens, and these are also for sale, if you like them!

...and next up

Nine months ago something new came along. And reading a lot of positive things about this particular brand, made me splash out on six polishes from A-England's "The Mythicals" collection - and boy was that a good investment!!! The one that intrigued me to begin with was Galahad, a light teal creme polish, so I had to try that first. The formula was fantastic: self leveling, easy to apply and as shown here VERY glossy:

Even with my crummy mobile phone camera you can see the awesomeness of Galahad.

It is closely related to Dior's Nirvana from the Rock Your Nails collection, but is lighter in base colour and a little bit less green. I will do a comparison in the near future.

Les Jeans de Chanel

...got on sale at Chanel.com earlier today, by now only Blue Boy is left. That went quick....

I'm not a big fan of Chanel polishes, I find them lacking in wear time and opacity - and the formula is VERY inconsistent. But they do come up with spectacular nail colours!

First up...

I have taken pictures for quite a while with my Sony Ericsson X10 Mini Pro, and those are in a quality that leaves a lot to be desired. But still I'll post some random swatches from that time.

First up is a swatch of Dior 807, NY 57th, a lovely deep and dark metallic gray, here it looks almost black. Some like to compare it to Chanel's Black Pearl, but BP has a green cast to its base that NY 57th lack - not that that is a bad thing. It was opaque in one coat, but since this was only the second time I used Dior's new brush i had som streaking, so here it is two coats:

Please try to NOT notice my crappy looking cuticles, they are my sore point.

The accent nail is YSL 138, Jaune Surrealiste, a tragically overlooked summer colour, which I find more interesting than Chanel's Mimosa. It is quite sheer, but packed with micro glitter in yellow, pink and light blue, and this picture DO NOT do it any justice. Here I have swatched it(two coats) over Barry M's Lemon Ice Cream. At a later point I will swatch this on its own.

So there it is, my first real nail blog post :)

A note on this blog

This blog is mainly a way for me to document my nail polish collection. Updates will be relatively random, but if you care to take a look or follow, please feel free.
