Full Moon over Friday the 13th

As the more perceptive of you might have realised by now this is...*stops channelling Rowan Atkinson*...Friday the 13th. A date traditionally connected with superstition - but also dread due to the famous slasher movie with the same title ;).

Some of my lacquerfriends and I decided to do a group post today - because besides it being friday the 13th there is also a full moon tonight. Which won't happen again in...a long time. Next time June the 13th is on a friday WITH a full moon is in 2098!!! So what to do?

I got thinking and the very first polish that popped in to my head was Ninja Polish Howling Blue Moon, a Glow-in-the-Dark, glittery blue awesome polish with loads of half moon glitters in it. And immediately after that thought I went: Ooooh I have Pretty Serious Crystal Lake!!! So there was the base for my mani.

And since I thought they needed something more - I got my stamping gear ready and here is what I came up with:

Howling Blue Moon on thumb and middle finger. Crystal Lake on ring and pinkie. A-England Camelot on index.

I used three of my Dashica XL SDP plates for the stamped images: 53, 92 and 93 and used a-england Camelot for the black base on my index finger.

If you would like to join us here is the inlinkz code. We would love to see what you come up with. If you don't have a blog, feel free to share it on my Facebook Page.

Fancy Friday 34: Merry Christmas

So I am finally getting into the Christmas spirit and have been looking forward to this challenge. I've had the design on my mind since last year when I first tried the abstract Christmas trees and failed so miserably that I didn't show them here. So I am happy to report that this time it went really well :D.

I did this mani as a skittlette and here is the final look:

To create the trees I started out with painting my nails with Chanel 479 Kaleidoscope. Then I taped a triangle on my middle and ring finger and painted it with a-england Perceval(which is also the colour I used for the index and little finger).

I tore off the tape right after I painted it and top coated it with nails inc. kensington caviar top coat. I let it dry completely before the next step. I then retaped the triangles - this step is a bit tricky and will take some concentration. I used striping tape and placed it so I would get the pattern you see. I finished by filling out the striped triangle with China Glaze Jolly Holly.

Again, I removed the striping tape immediately. It will save you some trouble if you keep track of how you placed the tape and then remove them in reverse direction. I finished the design by placing some rhinestones as stars, I used a blob of top coat to get them to stick properly. Then I top coated it to finish it off.

I used my Dashica XL SdP 93 plate for the christmas ornament, and used BarryM Gold Foil and Jolly Holly polishes.

On my thumb is the SERIOUSLY AHMAZING China Glaze Running in Circles. Boy am I glad I bought that one on a whim. It is perhaps the most beautiful glass fleck polish I own.

And it really is as smooth as it look, one of the reasons why I love glass fleck polishes so much - I can get my glitter fix but don't have to do anything but top coat it to get it to feel smooth to the touch.

And a picture of the design with flash:

I hope you liked it as much as I do :) - and if I don't get to say it later: A very Merry Christmas to all of you, my lovely readers <3

And remember to check out all the other marvellous Christmas manis from the other girls.

Fancy Friday #23: Autumn

Autumn has shown its face here in Denmark and to coincide with the rainy weather outside is this week's Fancy Friday theme.

I love all the shades the leaves shift through at this time and that colour change is what inspired me for this challenge. I also realised I had a stamp that looks very much like Boston Ivy which leaves go through the most prominent change in colour:

I put on Zoya Yara as base layer and then I took a make-up sponge and cut out three very small pieces. I then sponged Zoya Dree, Sinful Colors Pandora and Sinful Color Nirvana randomly on each nail. Lastly I stamped with Dashica SdP- with a rusty golden stamping polish also from Dashica. That all turned out like this:

Pardon my rough cuticles, have been less than generous with my hand-and-nail-care-routine.

Zoya Yara
I had an "accident" with my pictures, these and two other sets of pictures that were on my comp got deleted in the latest distro upgrade. I luckily had these laying around on google+ in a very low resolution but in a recent update on google they decided the editing programme was going to be google-only so you need to use chrome to be able to edit and crop pics on the go. Which is why these pics are unedited - but hopefully you'll enjoy watching anyway ;)

And remember to check out the other Girls' inspirational manis :).

Zoya Dree
