Fancy Friday #93: Multi Colour Stamping

I am finally back after life threw me a curve ball. Blogging about nail polish and nail polish challenges has had to take third place for a while, but I have been polishing my nails so there are plenty of manis to share with you in the near future :D. And my return is also a small celebration worthy since this is actually my post no. 300!!

Multi Colour Stamping is the challenge for this week's Fancy Friday - and a stamping technique I've become quite thrilled with.

Unfortunately this particular mani is one of those that worked so much better in my mind's eye - I think I should have used a dark base colour instead.

Base colour is Elevation Polish Yeti Hugs Feels So Close:

I used Messy Mansion plate 32 which is an egyptian themed plate and has a design I have wanted to use since I purchased it. I used my Rica stamping polishes and started with randomly placing blobs of each colour on the image.

I did my middle nail first, but made the mistake of trying to blend the colours together while I was scraping. That certainly didn't have the desired effect and instead of a wonderful rainbow they turned into this murky sort of berry colour that wasn't even exciting.

So for the rest I tried to simply wipe my scraper over the image in one go. That had an equally problemtic effect - a lot of the design became almost invisible when stamped on white, as you can see it is really hard to see the intricate design.

Hopefully I will have time soon to recreate this with a darker base colour :).

Remember to check the rest of the Fancy Friday bloggers, there are some fantastic multi colour stamping manicures going on!!!

Fancy Friday #86: NYE Nail Art

So life have gotten in the way for my blogging - and I have been neglecting posts of my Fancy Friday manis. So to start them off here are my FF NYE nails:

Yeah, shockingly I was nekkid for the celebration 'cause I had too much to do and very little time to anything nail related. Instead I did these a few days later - they were what I had planned for but never got to do...

I used OPI Push and Shove, Elevation Polish Silver Sword, Rapa Nui and Jbel Ajachi. Not the perfect NYE mani, but I really like it.

Anyway - it matched our decorations in blue, silver and purple :D.

13 Days of January Nail Art Challenge #4: Monochromatic

Whoah, life got in the way of my blogging...

One colour, several hues is what I best can describe this challenge as - and that made me do a sideways blue gradient.

Totally forgot to take a picture of the finished gradient before I stamped.

But this is the final result:

I used Elevation Alphubel, The Nail Junkie Bluebonnet and Darling Diva Blue Diamond

For the lace detail I used Messy Mansion plate 44 and used Rica Whiteout as stamping colour.

I hope you all liked this, I am actually quite pleased with it. I ambeginning to feel more confident doing nail art and have an increasing number of manis that I really like.

See you soon,

Marie-Luise

13 Days of January Nail Art Challenge #3: Half and Half

I wasn't too imaginative with this prompt, but never mind that - I really like how they turned out:

For once I don't mind the visible nail line, since it makes it more like my inspiration picture:

I used Catrice Twist of Lemon, The Nail Junkie Coffee and Elevation Polish Limestone for this mani.

My cuticles are in so much trouble due to the winter weather, so I really look forward to buy some more Bliss Kiss cuticle oil on Monday...

I'm quite chuffed with this it actually looked how I imagined it in my mind's eye.

See you soon,
Marie-Luise

Fancy Friday #79 : Favourite Nail Polish or Design

This week's challenge is a bit of both. As you well know I am a devout Elevation Polish believer. And though Lulu creates oodles of gorgeous polishes there is one that has always been my favourite. It is the one I choose when I need a pick-me-up or feel all my lovely pastels are a bit boring. Not so with this beauty.

I give you: Elevation Polish Toubkal, my all-time favourite nail polish!

It hits all the right buttons with me. It is a totally vampy colour (my first nail polish colour crush was on all things vampy) and it has glass flecks in abundance - a finish I've been crazy about since back when I bought Illamasqua Raindrops at it's initial release.

For good measure I've thrown in a favourite design and a go-to mani:

Stamping and Skittlette.

Usually I use as many different polishes for the skittlette as possible but with this one I really just wanted to show you that one. So in order to make it a skittlette I found some rhinestones in my  nail art travel case and put them on my thumb and ring finger. They only sat for a couple of hours since I only attached them with top coat :D

I love stamping and try to incorporate it in as many designs as possible. For this challenge I chose my Messy Mansion plate MM44 - with an absolutely gorgeous lace design. I received my new stamper heads from Messy Mansion - I finally got hold of the soft ones, and let me tell you, they stamp marvellously!!! I don't think I've ever had a this clean and crisp design!

I think it is gorgeous!!

Don't forget to take a look at the other favourite designs og nail polishes from my fellow Fancy Friday challengers.

Fancy Friday #70: Frilly Edges

For this week's Fancy Friday I chose Elevation SBP La Harpe - a polish that some wonderful nail polish fairies gifted to me. It is gorgeous and I don't want to remove it!!!

Then I stamped some french lace edges on them - which was pretty difficult - I dare say this is a fail. But you know me I'm not shy with my failures, you get the whole package with me :D.

I really love my new MessyMansion plates - and I am really a huge fan of plate 44. Those lace patterns are so beautiful and extremely versatile!!

Fancy Friday #69: Dry Brush

Dry Brush Nail Art is a first for me but definitely not the last. It was really fun to do and took less time than most of what I usually do for the challenges. Totally easy nail art if you are just starting out! Basically you dry polish off the brush until almost nothing is left. Then you randomly draw with the brush on the nail until you are satisfied!! Fantastic!!!

I had some untried Elevation polishes that I thought looked great next to one another so they had to go on my nails :D

I love the plaid look I got out of it - really pretty I think.

I used Weddell Sea, Mount Ventoux, El Cap 2, Pic du Gar, and Carlit.

Fancy Friday #66: Duo

The second of my summer forgetfuls is this gorgeous mani.

This prompt made me instantly grab for this collaboration duo: Pahlish and Elevation Polish:

Pahlish Romance, a lovely dove gray polish with micro glass flecks *dies* and squishy deliciousnes:

Elevation Polish Bromance is a gorgeous glitter topper with white hexes, squares and circles and copper flakes in a clear base with coppery holographic shimmer.

The combination is wonderful if you ask me. It leans a bit on the safe side but there is something really attractive in that.

I think it is the copper flakes and shimmer that really sets it apart when you use these two together. Can't stop looking at my nails :D

I realised when I put Romance on that I really do need more Pahlish in my stash :D :D

Fancy Friday #65: Girly

I got up-to-date with my GOT manis so now it is time for my Fancy Friday manis. The first of those that got left behind during my summer vacation was the Girly challenge.

This was as girly as I could get it - a three-colour gradient with stamping and TWO pinks :O.

I used China Glaze Purple Panic as stamping colour and as yo can see it worked fairly okay. I used my MoyouLondon Sailor 04 plate.

The second pink is from Peita's Polish called Pink Blitz. It is from the One Year anniversary What's In-Die Box. Lovely pink holographic, I really like it.

Elevation Polish Matsuda...I have no words for this, it is really stunning - and that is coming from the girl that really doesn't like red. Or pinks. Totally out of my comfort zone here!!

The gray one is Bound to Fall from Dandy Nails. Beautiful polish with blue micro flakes in it. So gorgeous and I need to wear this on it's own soon!

I have to confess I was really out of my comfort zone here but I am actually quite happy with the result. And I might even wear pink and red more often :O.
