Fancy Friday #68: Around the World

This prompt was so inspiring to me - I knew immediately what kind of nail art I'd do with this.

I am a huge Prince fan - have been for the better part of 25 years now - and I have a lot of his earlier albums.

I have always loved the album art for Around the World in a Day, not to mention the music, so naturally I chose to take my inspiration from it.

I decided not to do an exact copy - just using it as an inspiration. Here is what I came up with:

I am really proud of these though they are not particularly advanced. I spent an hour or more and had a blast doing them.

I am enjoying working with my new nail art brushes which seem to have improved my detail work.

Fancy Friday #59: Geometrical

Today's FF challenge made me revisit a type of nail art I usually use tape for but this time I decided to do free hand: colour  blocking :D.

Så er der dømt geometri på bloggen. Jeg har taget en af mine favoritteknikker og lavet den i frihånd i stedet: Colour Block tapemani.
Det var ikke så svært som jeg havde frygtet eller også mestrer jeg bare det der frihånd bedre end før...

Challenge Week 27: Floral Mani

Bwahahahaha, I am spamming today :D - finally catching up on my challenges with this post. Unlike the rest of the challenge girls this won't be a July 4th mani (though I do have something related to this day that I will post later) since I tweeked the list to do my Freedom Mani.

So Floral Mani it is. I did a youtube search to get some inspiration and stumbled over this beautiful design:

I sure as heck haven't gotten anywhere near this but it is my first free hand flower nail art, and I am quite pleased with it:

I used acrylic paint for the flowers as in the video - I gather it is easier to work with colours that don't dry out too quickly :D

The base colour is Orly Green Apple, a polish I got through a swap with sweet Heidi from Se Min Kjole... Go check her blog out, it is  fun and she's got great swatches. It is in Danish but that shouldn't deter you from taking a closer look ;)
