Golden Oldie Thursday #38: Brown

Today marks the last week of the GOT polish challenge among us Nail Tarts. 38 weeks of going through my old polishes - which has been wonderful.

Miss Crumpet has devised a new challenge that will incorporate prompts for old polishes and she is fine tuning everything at this point - but very soon I will be able to reveal all about it.

In the mean time you can all look at this here, my brown mani for GOT: SeaLore Polish Arctic Otter. Gorgeousness in a bottle is all.

Make sure you check out the rest of Crumpet's Nail Tarts and what they have come up with for the last of the GOT Polish Challenge:

Golden Oldie Thursday #32: On White Base

As soon as I saw Ms. Osborne in this dress I knew I wanted to do some nail art inspired by it - and then I realised that one of the August GOT challenge manis were going to be On a White Base...

Here is what I came up with - using nails inc. floral street as undies for Sealore Polish Beluga Blizzard. I free handed the time glass shape on my middle and ring finger and then taped the lower part. Then I put some black polish on a makeup sponge and just dapped away gently.

I cut out some triangular shapes that I taped on my little finger and dapped with a sponge applied with black polish.

On my index I used the "other" side of the triangular shapes I cut out, so my entire nail was covered with tape, except for the triangles - and dapped some black nail polish there as well ;)

Lastly I made a sort of yinyang swirl - it sort of seemed appropriate...

Hope you enjoyed these - I had a blast making them ;).

Fancy Friday #37: Waterfall Mani

Friday again and that means another fancy one :D. I must confess I've never tried this look before though they've been all over the nail community after Sammy from the Nailasaurus made a tutorial on it. And I can relate to why. This is probably one of THE easiest nail art techniques to master and you get an outstanding look on your nails.

Remember this is my first, and it has its faults but that being said with some practice this could look spectacular. And that is before I have even begun to think of different colour combinations. So a total win here!

For this look I used last week's FF mani as base and used three Sinful Colors polishes and one Sea Lore Polish.

Sinful Colors Under 18:

Sinful Colors Fig:

Sinful Colors Rich in Heart:

Sea Lore Arctic Otter:

This is definitely not my last waterfall mani, I really love that the possibilities are almost endless with this look!!

Remember to check out the colour combinations from the rest of the Fancy Friday team.

Fancy Friday #29: Copy That, Copy Cat

So today's challenge is copying someone else's manicure.

That was an easy choice. I love almost everything Jacki from Adventures in Acetone is doing and I've wanted to do one of her mani's in like forever. But I never got around to it so here was the perfect opportunity. Originally I was going to copy one of her animal manicures because they are way cute, but then I saw this in my bloglovin feed:

Besides this picture she also had an easy step-by-step tutorial that you can follow here.

You guys know how much I love Doctor Who and I think Adipose is soooo cute. So I just had to do this.

Take in to consideration that I rarely do nail art with my non dominant hand (and I thought this was a good way to practice my right hand) then it is actually not that bad, I think.

I used Cult Nails Time Traveller(!!!!) as base colour, nails inc. floral street for the Adipose, Cult Nails Nevermore for eyes and mouth and lastly I just needed some glitter as well and put on Sea Lore Beluga Blizzard on thumb and pinkie before I matted it.

Of course they are not nearly as perfect as Jacki's but I am actually quite satisfied with the result.

I urge you to give Jacki a follow she's an awesome nail artist and her tutorials are so easy to follow that you think while you do it: why didn't I try this one before?

And before you move on you should check out the other girls and what they've been up to with their copy catting skills.

Man er vel Doctor Who fan ;)

Fancy Friday #20: Accent Nail

Today's Fancy Friday is very short and to the point!

It started out like this:

Then I thought of the stamping plate I'd received from NinjaPolish the day before:

And then I did this:

How could I not? You know I love Dr Who...

Btw, I used two polishes from Sealore Polish that are from her, now retired, winter collection 2012 - Wintry Whale and Beluga Blizzard. They were ridiculously easy to apply, two coats of each to get this kind of opacity is a winner in my book!!

For stamping purposes I used a white stamping polish for the Adipose and RBL Dead Calm for the TARDIS. So in love with this!!
