13 Days of January Nail Art Challenge #4: Monochromatic

Whoah, life got in the way of my blogging...

One colour, several hues is what I best can describe this challenge as - and that made me do a sideways blue gradient.

Totally forgot to take a picture of the finished gradient before I stamped.

But this is the final result:

I used Elevation Alphubel, The Nail Junkie Bluebonnet and Darling Diva Blue Diamond

For the lace detail I used Messy Mansion plate 44 and used Rica Whiteout as stamping colour.

I hope you all liked this, I am actually quite pleased with it. I ambeginning to feel more confident doing nail art and have an increasing number of manis that I really like.

See you soon,

Marie-Luise

13 Days of January Nail Art Challenge #3: Half and Half

I wasn't too imaginative with this prompt, but never mind that - I really like how they turned out:

For once I don't mind the visible nail line, since it makes it more like my inspiration picture:

I used Catrice Twist of Lemon, The Nail Junkie Coffee and Elevation Polish Limestone for this mani.

My cuticles are in so much trouble due to the winter weather, so I really look forward to buy some more Bliss Kiss cuticle oil on Monday...

I'm quite chuffed with this it actually looked how I imagined it in my mind's eye.

See you soon,
Marie-Luise

13 Days of January Nail Art Challenge #2: Happiness

This was almost a no-brainer for me. My twin rascals make me happy, nail polish makes me happy. They love doing my nails. So they did mine tonight before they went to bed.

They chose their own colours and design, I did the base colour.

Silja chose to dot - these are lucky flowers:

Liv wanted to do something with a Christmas theme using red, white, black and green - so she made candy canes:

And here they are in a little collage - mama is really proud :D

Needless to say they were ecstatic about it, but also too tired to really admire their own work after they'd finished. I think they did great.

See you all soon,
Marie-Luise

P.S. Remember to browse through the other Happiness manis.

13 Days of January Nail Art Challenge #1: Follow a Tutorial

Happy New Year all!! And welcome to a new nail art challenge here on the blog. I've wanted to do some more nail art but I'm not ready for a full blown 31DC, so when a group of my blogger friends and I got together to think up a challenge, we opted for a modified version of The Crumpet's Nail Tarts 31 Day Challenge for January 2015 - naturally with Debbie's blessing ;).

I saw Jacki's Polar Bear nail art tutorial a couple of weeks ago and instantly knew I was going to use it for this challenge.

For my version of the polar bears I used:
Dior Porcelaine
Rica White Out
Rica Gloomy Sunday
Cult Nails Never More

The rest of my mani is the absolutely gorgeous Girly Bits Scandilous that Pam Heil created for the Scandinavian nail polish group on Facebook. The snow flakes are a total nail fail made with the equally gorgeous Girly Bits nail polish Bette Davis' Eyes. I chose not to top coat them since I liked the textured feeling I got this way, somehow it represents the more rough nature of Greenland and the North Pole.

I think the polar bears are really cute even though there are some minor details that I struggled a bit with - but overall I am quite ecstatic with this mani!!!

And here you can take a look at what's to come during January:

Remember to drop by and take a peak at all the rest of the tutorial manis - click a pic and you will be directed instantly to the blog of your choice :).

Have a lovely day,

Marie-Luise
